Arlo Guthrie Performs at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Arlo Guthrie performed in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City this morning.

The legendary folk singer revealed his plans to perform at the event on his website earlier this month.

"Well, now that the info has been officially released I can tell you the first of a few great things!" Guthrie wrote. "I will be in the parade in New York on Thanksgiving Day! I haven't been in a parade for many years. The last time was in Pittsfield. This oughtta be fun! See you there or on TV."

Guthrie performed his popular tune "Alice's Restaurant," a rambling, hilarious Thanksgiving favorite.

"For whatever crazy reason the holiday and I are glued together," Guthrie wrote on his website. "It's one of those unintentional accidents of nature. But, if you had to get stuck to a holiday, it could be worse than Thanksgiving. For that reason alone I'm pretty thankful."
